How to Get a Suitable Housing Report in Spain
Prepare the accommodation evidence needed for your family’s application.
Who issues the report?
The competent regional social services, or the municipality if the region delegates it (Art. 67.2).
Request it where you live; keep the dated receipt. Check the local service through the official family procedure.
If the report is delayed
The authority has one month to issue and notify it (Art. 67.2).
After a proven delay, submit legally admissible substitute evidence plus your report-request receipt. The substitute must cover every housing item, not just the lease.
What must be shown
Right to occupy, room count and use, inhabitants, habitability and equipment.
The occupancy title may be yours or a qualifying cohabiting family member’s; ownership is not compulsory.
What to do
Request the report early enough to preserve a valid filing packet.
Steps
- Request the report and retain proof of filing.
- Provide occupancy title, rooms, inhabitants and habitability details.
- Ensure the report or substitute is at most six months old at filing.
Basis
RD 1155/2024 Art. 67.2 sets one month for issue/notification, lawful substitute proof after proven delay, mandatory housing particulars and a six-month maximum evidence age at filing.
