How Much Income Is Needed for Family Reunification?
Calculate the financial resources required for your household.
How much do I need?
Normally 150% of IPREM for you plus one relative, then 50% for each additional member (Art. 67.1).
The calculation uses current IPREM. Qualifying child cases can use the statutory reduction; it is not automatic for every family.
Salary, savings and other contributors
Regular income is assessed for nature and regularity; business income uses net return.
Stable assets use the previous six-month average. Resident spouse/partner or first-degree direct relatives in the same household can contribute (Art. 67.1).
Excluded resources and child reduction
Study/housing aid and social-assistance income are excluded; maintenance payments count only when for the relative being reunited.
The qualifying two-person household with a minor uses 110% of annual guaranteed IMV income, plus 10% per additional minor (Art. 67.1).
What to do
Use the initial-application calculation; do not transfer it to renewal.
Steps
- Count all members of the household covered by the application.
- Match each income or asset to supporting records.
- Attach a reasoned child-reduction request if applicable.
Basis
RD 1155/2024 Art. 67.1 defines the initial 150%/50% IPREM scale, child-related reduction and resource inclusion rules. Ordinary renewal is separately governed by Art. 71, not this initial means test.
