TIE HoyFNMT digital certificate — apply with your NIE
Get a personal software certificate to identify yourself electronically in Spain. This route uses an in-person identity check.
Can I apply without a TIE card?
Yes. You can use official NIE proof without a plastic TIE.
You must be 18 or older, or legally emancipated.
Non-EU: NIE proof + valid passport.
EU: NIE proof + (valid passport or valid national ID).
Where do I start?
Start on FNMT’s software certificate path.
Attend identity verification yourself; a representative is possible with prior notarial certification of your FNMT contract signature.
If someone attends for you
Sign every page of the FNMT contract, front and back, with notarial certification; an ordinary power of attorney does not meet this condition.
The representative brings the original signed form, a copy and their original ID — FNMT representative requirements.
Use your certificate on another device
Export the certificate including its private key and set a password for the export file.
You can then import that file on another device; FNMT’s Chrome/Windows instructions show the export process.
What to do
Same PC and user from setup to download; keep the online request password.

Basis
The emailed code identifies your request at identity verification and download; it is not the certificate itself.
