TIE status check: trámite, resuelto and the card queue

Find your current immigration status, understand the decision, and know what happens before your TIE card is ready.

Where do I check my residence application status?

Use the official sede status channel with your NIE, file number, or personal data. It tells you the administrative status of the immigration file, not whether your TIE card has been produced.

What does en trámite mean?

It means the file is still being processed. It is not a refusal and it is not a card-production status. If you have not received a favorable resolution, you are not yet in the fingerprint/lote stage.

What does favorable or resuelto mean?

Favorable means the authorization was approved. Your next practical step is usually documents, tasa 790-012, and a fingerprint appointment, unless your procedure has a special path.

Can I book fingerprints with only a screenshot?

Some offices accept a status printout; others ask for the resolution letter. If your appointment is close and the letter has not arrived, prepare both the status proof and any DEHú/notification evidence you can download.

Why can sede be favorable while lote shows nothing?

Because they are different systems. Sede belongs to the approval clock; lote belongs to card production after fingerprints. A favorable decision does not create a lote by itself.

Immigration file status is available through the sede electrónica by NIE or file number. The system distinguishes between trámite (pending), resuelto favorable (approved), and resuelto desfavorable (denied). A favorable resolution does not mean the physical card is ready — card production and lote queue are separate processes.
