How long do I have to get fingerprinted?
The law says 1 month from receiving your resolution letter. For first arrivals in Spain, the clock starts from your entry date.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Your resolution stays valid. They will not revoke it for being late. In large cities it takes over a month just to get an appointment.
Can I skip fingerprints and go straight to renewal?
Yes. If your permit has a short validity, you can wait for renewal without ever getting the card. Present your resolution as proof.
