FAMILY REUNIFICATION

Family reunification application status

Track your reunification case and understand waiting times, notices and possible next steps.

Where do I check my case?

Use the official case-status checker with the details on your receipt.
The status is informative. Read the actual resolution or request in the notification channel used for your case, including DEHú if applicable.

Two months without a decision

Initial ordinary reunification has a two-month maximum decision period and negative silence (Art. 68.6).
Check formal suspension and notice records first.
An unchanged “en trámite” does not turn silence into approval; review the presumed-denial remedy rather than assuming endless waiting is the only option.

Electronic notification clock

If electronic notice is mandatory or chosen, access serves it; unopened for ten calendar days counts as rejected notification (Law 39/2015, Art. 43).
Email/SMS is an alert, not the formal notice. Keep the document and delivery/access timestamps.

What to do

Act on formal notices; do not use the status label as your deadline.

Steps

  1. Keep the submission reference, NIE and filing date.
  2. Open formal notifications and record service dates.
  3. If asked for documents, respond through the specified channel before its stated deadline.

Art.68.6: initial two-month negative silence. Law39/2015 Art.43: electronic access serves notice; ten calendar days unopened rejects mandatory/chosen electronic notification.
