Is Claude Code included in the Guest Pass?
Yes. The Guest Pass activates Claude Pro, which includes Claude Code.
Can I use a Guest Pass if I already have a free Claude account?
Yes, as long as you have never had a paid subscription. The pass upgrades your existing free account to Pro for 7 days.
What happens if I choose Max instead of Pro?
You will be charged immediately at the Max rate ($100/month). The Guest Pass only applies to Pro.
How many Guest Passes can one person share?
Each Pro or Max subscriber receives a limited number of passes. Anthropic does not publish the exact count or expiry date.
Can I get Claude Pro for free without a Guest Pass?
Claude offers a free tier with limited usage. For full Pro access, a Guest Pass or paid subscription is required. Students may have access through GitHub Education.

After the 7 days
Your account converts to a paid Pro subscription at $20 per month unless you cancel. To cancel: go to Settings → Plan → Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the trial period. You cannot get a second Guest Pass on the same account. After cancellation you keep a free Claude account with limited usage.
Pro vs Max — which does the pass activate?
The Guest Pass activates Claude Pro only. If you select Max during registration, you will be charged immediately — the pass does not apply to Max. Pro includes full Claude.ai access and Claude Code. Max adds higher rate limits and priority access at $100 per month.
Troubleshooting
Common issues when redeeming a Guest Pass.
- "Guest passes are not currently available" — the link has been used up or expired. Each subscriber can share a limited number of passes.
- "Invalid link" — the URL may have been copied incorrectly. Use the full link from this page.
- Already had a subscription — Guest Passes are for users who have never paid for Claude. Previous subscribers are not eligible.
- Pass shows as applied but no Pro features — sign out and sign back in. Check Settings → Plan to confirm Pro is active.
